I'm aware that you can use a lot of different salt's to replace "aquarium salt" from what I read you are attempting to find a replacement that is "non-iodized". I have a few questions.
1. What is a decent brand I can find at home depot or such
2. Is dosing any different?
and lastly
3. Does API add anything to the salt? it states that it is "enforced with electroltyes" which can be bs if they are just talking about Na and Cl and such. Basically are you getting anything different in your 64oz 8$ container from petsmart?
"Aquarium Salt provides essential electrolytes freshwater fish need to reach peak coloration and vitality. Electrolytes are essential for the uptake of oxygen and the release of carbon dioxide and ammonia. The lack of electrolytes may cause serious health problems"
