Is it best to start in a smaller tank and move them up as they grow? I have a 2.5-3 in Indo who was in my 40g breeder tank and hid all day. At night he would attack my GG so I moved him to a 10g. Now that he is in the 10 he is so much more active and swimming around.

So the question is should I keep him in the 10 for another inch or 2 then move him up to a bigger tank until I get to the 180?

I always start in smaller tanks. Its easier to feed them, and as they grow move them to a bigger tank.
