I was just wondering how big these fish grow... some places tell me 4-5 inches, others say much larger. i'm just wondering if i could get someone who actually knows to tell me:ROFL:

I read up to 8"

Demasoni 4. Bumblebees 8-9.

What size tank? It is best to keep Demasoni in groups of 10-15 due to their aggression. To do you this you would need at least a 55 gallon. The bumblebees will need a 75 gallon+.

my tank is 56 gallons and has 2 bumble bee, a demasoni, red zebra, 2 jewel, 2 acei. is that too many fish or could i add more, or should i just leave it? i was kind of following the 1inch of fish per gallon rule

I wouldnt add anymore, seeing the acei and bumblebees get 8+ inches.

wow... are you sure about the acei? i've heard from various sources that they max out at 5, but most make it to about 4 or 4.5

Sorry if you misunderstood me. Male Aceis have been seen to get 6 inches +, while females stay smaller. Both sexes of Crabro get 8 inches +-.

Male acei have the ability to reach a good 8". Crabro are big cichlids with males averaging 8" and stretching for more.
When it comes to bigger mbuna (crabro, chipokae, fuelleborni, acei, trewavasae) you will often find that bigger tanks are absolutely better. Most tend to be very aggressive or hyperaggressive as is but in smaller tanks aggression is amplified since the fish struggles not only to define and defend it's spawning territory bit elbow room as well. In my experience P. crabro are not nearly as aggressive in bigger tanks (100+ gallons/ 5-6' length), than in any 4' tank. They can seem downright laid back once given their desired amount of space.
