I know that if you power feed your fish they normaly grow faster but will it affect on coloration.Someone told me you should fast them that way they can use energy on coloring up not just growing and digesting . What does everyone think lets here it?

I dont know how it affects coloring but I always fast my fish once or twice a week. I think the fish look healthier the fish fed constantly. Thats my opinion and in no way fact. I do know that fasting does allow time for your filtration to catch up biologically and the water looks extra clear when this is done. I do two to three 20% water changes a week but the day after fasting is when I think my fish look the best. They do get a lot more aggressive though being that they are hungry, so fins start to look tattered on occasions.

I dont' know about fasting for color, but i also fast my fishes one day or sometimes two days max after a water change, and their color looks great!

Powerfeeding is used on a short term basis usually associated to conditioning or general 'plumping up'. To powerfeed, means to feed fish a extremely high nutritional food fed in small amounts up to 3-5 times a day, depening on the fishes size.
This is a 2.5" Pink Tilapia befre and after 3 weeks of powerfeeding.
