Hey guys, Im just really getting into planting my aquariums, In my 29 gallon tank (just some bn plecos) I have a sword fern, and two other plants, i will post pics soon i have no idea what they are. I had them in my tank for a while and they werent growing much and they werent turning brown, so i decided to get some liquid fertilizer, i picked up a bottle of " Kent Marine Pro-Plant" and a bottle of "Flourish Potassium" Has anyone had experiences with either of these? I have yet to use them but if you have any tips on them please tell or just tell me what you would use instead! My substrate is gravel too.

Never used either of those products..

But normally people wont dose very specific ferts such ad iron and potassium unless there plants show signs of deficiency...

Personally i use seachem flourish excel (daily), and seachem comprehensive plant supplement (when needed)

Also, having the right lights and a Co2 injection unit can make a world of difference to plants...

Would co2 really make that much of a difference? What would be the easiest way to do this? Could I use the co2 supplement instead? Thanks

I would try the Co2 supplement first as its definitely a cheaper option to begin with...

I mean if you also dose a complete plant supplement it could also help a lot, but just becareful as dosing too much can also cause algae...

What type of substrate and lights are you using?

I will buy the co2 supplement because its on sale right now, what could it hurt for 4$ haha and I have regular gravel, I hope to switch to sand in the future but gravel is what I have, and Im not exactly sure of the light how can I tell?

If you are using plain gravel, as in gravel that isn't specifically created for growing plants, then adding ferts or root tabs could be very beneficial to your plants since they maybe in need of more nutrients...

As for your lighting, somewhere on the hood i'm guessing it should say if its using T8, T5 or T5HO lighting...
