question on HITH

So, a little while back i noticed in horror that my Oscar had a hole in the center of his forhead.

after covering every possible cause of HITH including, diet, water quality, parasites, carbon, and even stray voltage, i think i got rid of the cause and the hole hasnt gotten any bigger. ...
but it hasnt healed either.

its been at least 8 months now and the hole is the same size as when i first noticed it.
There are no new holes, and it hasnt gotten larger, but it wont heal over either..

anyone else ever have HITH scars that wouldnt go away?

My oscar has scars that haven't healed. I've heard that some do go away and some don't. It seems there is a better chance that small scars will heal. Have you tried melafix? That might help.

My oscar has had the same scars for 4 years now, and no new ones.

ok, that makes me feel better. malefix wasnt helpful in healing it, no. but i'm sure it helped keep it from getting any bigger.

i guess he'll just have a hole in his forhead forever. at least its small and pretty hard for anyone else to notice except me.
the rest of him is great though.

i was devestated when i saw that hole.
Now he has a UV Sterilizer, and a ground probe in his tank and that seems to have done the trick.

my big oscar is quite a few years old at this point, and has a few scars from HITH. from what ive seen with 2 oscars in the passed, and read about, most HITH will scar and wont heal, but wont get any bigger either

alright. well at least i know its normal then. i wasnt sure and i was wondering if i cured it or not.
