I have been checking out a gorgeous looking pike on the internet and the owner being the honest guy that he is notified me that the pike has a swollen tongue. Does anyone know what would cause this and how could it be treated. The owner has told me the fish has a great appetite and he has had the fish for quite some time. all input greatly appreciated.

Never heard of a swollen tongue. Did he say how long he had it. If it was do to an injury. It will more than likely go away if from injury unless permanently damaged. Never heard of a disease that causes that.

He said he has had the fish for close to a year. He received it that way from his distributor. The price is kind of steep but it is a rare import!

If he is someone you trust and the fish is something you really want than go for it.
I am of the belief it doesn't matter how much you pay for it if you really like it.

Whats the pike? You're gonna get it, so it doesn't really matter...haha. Swollen tongue? That doesn't make any sense. Although there is a parasite, not sure where it is from, that EATS the fishes tongue and takes its place....really weird.....hope thats not the case.
