How long after you cycle the tank should you clean the gravel and change the filters in the power filters?

it really depends on what size fish you put in it how much waste they produce how often you feed .....just make sure you keep checking the water quality and that should let you know with my tanks I trie to vaccume the swubstrate once a week in my small community tank on my other tank with oscars and plecos I do that 2-3 times per week and have 2 25% water changes per week and the water is always crystal clear and the water quality is awesome I test my tanks every 2 days I know som do not test that often but I do just to make sure everything is going good and functioning like it should

I have one jaguar cichlid about 6 inches and thinking about adding a pleco if I can find one near his size, I hope he will get along, anyone have any suggestions on that?

Should get along fine. I have had a 9 inch Jaguar with a 6-7 inch pleco for few months and they generally do their own thing. I also just bought a 140 gallon last Friday and the guy gave me a big pleco, probably 14 inches, and the jag leaves him alone to. My jaguar will torment basically anything else I put in my tank other than plecos.

with just a jag and pleco you shouldn't have to vacume it or replace the filters to often as long as your not power feeding them and make sure you scoop out any pellets out of the tank that the fish didn't eat and you should be fine, by just looking at your tank and the substrate you will be able to tell speially with a pleco ... those things have the longest poo for their size rofl

If your worried about Beneficial bacteria dying off you can clean the cartridges in tank water. Vacuuming the substrate should not hurt anything. Just my experience..
