If you were allow to keep a FRT (Fly River Turtle), this included the area that you lived allow such turtle to exist (sell / trade / buy). How much would you pay for a 6" FRT???

Will $500 be a reasonable amount? or a little bit on the high side???

;)

I have no idea. They're nice turtles and all but I'm not into them as many of the other fishy folks on MFK are. I'd only pay a few hunderd bucks for one. I think people are nuts who pay over a grand for them. But thats just me.

I've never had a tegu, but I'm more of a turtle guy myself
<----(if you couldn't tell)
I say go for the FRT. If I had the money and opportunity, I would

$500 is a fair price... I've been offered babies @ 2.5" for $700, 4" @650, 12"+ for $1200. It just varies on the sellers, some give them more value than others.. Some people have them "just because" and dont know the real worth of the turtle.

they are very expensive now.

just 3 years ago, they sold for a mere $250 but since then, prices have tripled/quadrupled.

reptile sellers will also sell them for much more than fish sellers. there's one on kingsnake right now for over $1,000 for a 4" specimen.
