I've got some divided 75g tanks that I am taking the dividers out of and am wanting to know how to go about giving them some new crossbracing. They were divided into thirds by glass panels that were simply siliconed in place, albeit very snugly. Would it do the job to have some glass pieces cut to size and silicon them in at the top where they would look (almost) like traditional crossbraces? I've been using one of the tanks without crossbracing for over a year now with no incidents. I've noticed a very slight bow in the front panel since day one, and it's always made me uncomfortable. Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

The siliconed strips might work or they might be pulled loose by the constant pressure..I would look into trying to find a replacement top frame that has cross braces built in.Some stores can order them for you.

That would be nice, but these tanks have very tall sides.....they extend several inches over the top of the tank which enables them to be stacked. The way they are made, makes a top frame impossible. They are also not the standard 75g dimensions.

A single 4" wide 1/4" glass center brace would be more than sufficient.

Thanks, I hope so, because that looks like the only way to brace these tanks up given their design.

Looks like there is really only one way to brace them up, so I guess I'll just order some glass and hope that does the trick. I'll probably go a little overkill and do 2 cross braces per tank, just for piece of mind. I just wish I had more of these tanks. Stacking 75's gives me a lot more tank for the space.
What's the favorite silicon or adhesive for glass to glass applications these days? I haven't done any tank building or repair in quite some time.

I've never seen any stackable 75G tanks. Any chance you can post a couple pics of them?
