okay i was at a LFS today and had seen something labeled albino tiger Oscar but it wasn't white it was a black Oscar with gray markings no signs of red or orange both were about 2 inches long

he this is the best picture i can find to give any type of resemblance
to what they looked like it had no red all black and gray like it was a marble pattern was very stunning my friend is going to buy them either way so when he gets them i can give you pictures but im just trying to help him get info before he makes a purchase

Often they label a tank that has albino oscars in it. Then they later add other oscars. The albinos all sell and only regular tiger oscar remains. Yet they don't bother to change the sign. I see this happen constantly.

Well...it's either going to be captive bred or wild caught...and at that point, the experts can probably be able to tell you river systems and all that jazz. Let's see some pics:popcorn:

yeah its probably just regular tiger oscar from when they were in tank together and albinos got sold like already said, it wouldn't be different SPECIES but different VARIANT, they should get red on them as they grow and mature, make sure your friend has a big enough tank if he is getting them as they can grow 14-16in normally (i think there are some that have even reached 18in!!) so they will need a 75g for one by itself and even bigger if he wants to get multiples
