I have an established tank at my office and i'm setting up a new one at home, about 30 min from each other. I will keep the media in tupperware with tank water on my ride home. will the BB die off that quick? am i over thinking here?

you should be fine just make sure its not sitting in the sun for the whole drive home

And use atleast a gallon of tank water.

Can you ask for a Police escort? ;)

Dr Joe

.

as far as i know they don't usually die within a thirty min time period, correct me if i'm wrong though. from what i have searched and found is that they should be able to last at least twenty four hours, that is in water that is oxygenated.

They start dying off in about 20 minutes, but with the extra water you should be ok.

You could also try and get a little "extra" detrious off of the bottom to help "feed" the bacteria on the way home. But give plenty of extra water like Dr. Joe said.

of course i didnt see Dr's post until after I did it. I put it in a pint size tupperware container. ill take a little more gravel and do it again.
