Question-Stand

Using the GARF stand model , could I use only 2x4s with a 48Lx33Wx34D aqaurium? I am trying to be as minimalist as possible with the stand. I priced square steel for a stand... not cheap.

Or could I use 2x4s for everything except the vertical supports.

Considering my off the shelf stand for my 150 is nothing but 1x4 turned into a cabinet I can't see why 2x4 wont work just fine. At only 48" long you can get by with ends and a middle for legs and even cross bracing on top depending upon materials.

Now I need to break the news to my welding friend that I wont be shelling out big cash for a bunch of box steel.
