Question with sand

i bought some pool filter sand and it says 20 grade on the front. Is this a good grade? Also what do i have to do to make it safe for my tank? Do i just wash it?

i bought some and gave it a rinse in a bin with a hose then put it in the tank, no other preping than that and my fish were fine, my syno love the stuff! dunno anything bout the grade tho sorry!

The grade is more important when being used as a filtration media. The grade determines the filter it can go in, so for what you're using it for it doesn't matter.
