They are surposed to reach 36" in the wild. I think the biggest captive at the moment are around 18" and still growing.

Depends on which species, the golden dorado (S. brasiliensis) is recorded to 40" and 50lbs.
The silver dorado (S. hilarii) is recorded to 20"
and the S. affinis is somewhere in between.
