hey I have like 70 frys from my green severum pair.... well now the fry's are free swiming and the parent are going crazy trying to keep them in one area... my question is should I take some out and put them in my breeders net??? there are like 15 other sev's in the tank and im afraid the fry's wont last too long....

a pic of the mom with frys..

hey im having the same issue with my firemouth fry, so far their still being protected by the parents but the "swarm of fry" is slowly being picked off... so i think your best bet due to my expeirience with my firemouths would be to seperate the fry. im no expert just my personol opinion. (cool lookin sev u got :))

man thanks..... I think imma try to get them out...the mom is uber protective of the frys...

Do you have another tank you can transfer the fry and/or parents into? Leaving them in there with 15 other fish is definitely asking for them to get eaten, and putting more stress on the parents defending them..

I agree that a separate tank is better than the breeder net.

Caution - big fish can kill fry through the breeder net. You need another plastic basket on the outside of the net. Probably easier to set up another small tank with a sponge filter.
