I GOT A RED DEVIL ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND HES STILL VERY SCARED OF ME AND HIDING ALMOST ALL DAY. IS THIS NORMAL???????


P.S HES IN A TANK BY HIMSELF.

every cichlid had a different persontaily but is it showing any signs of being sick?

NOPE. I DROP IN FOOD BUT HE DOESNT EAT WHEN IM THERE. ONLY WHEN I LEAVE. AND WHEN I SAW IT TO PURCHASE IT HE WAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FISH ATTACKING THE GLASS AND EVRY THING AROUND IT. THIS IS MY FIRST FRESHWATER TANK IN YEARS AS I MOSTLY SALTWATER. BUT NOW I HAVE HIM IN MY ROOM AND A POND IN PROGRESS OUT SIDE.

It is probably still adjusting to your tank. Give him time. Mine was like that too when I first brought him home. It took about a week or two before he came out when I was around. He's totally different now, always front and center. Just make sure that he's eating and leave the rest to time.

thats how mine is. but hes starting to get more outgoing slowly but surely hell turn around.

how big is he and what size tank? most likely he's just still getting used to the new tank and/or it's just a juvenile and not showing his true personality/aggression yet.
