Can a red devil live with bichirs or a catfish or would they kill them

Depends on tank size and type of catfish. In my experience if the tank isnt big enough, male red devils will kill.

In my experience(and this only with the catfish) they usually ignore them unless you get one of the murderous one that allow no tank mates. Mine accepted plecos and other bottom dwelling catfish

Great point. Each one is different. Mistake I made? I tried to add tankmates for a 13 inch Midas/red devil. yup, that ended in murder and brutality.

True. I've found letting them grow up with other fish lessened the instances of my red devil or midevils what ever they where murdering tank mates.
