If i had a 40gallon air pump on 8 sponge filters, Would it even bubble at all?

Convert that to cfm, air pumps aren't spec'd in gallons...where do you keep getting that from?

I'm just saying, I did buy one, but it hasent come yet. Its from petsmart and on the box it said for 40 gallon tanks .
The other air pump I ordered will be here by friday i hope.

See, now that makes more sense...A 40g tank is deeper than say a 20g thats why they advertise like that (they're saying it will pimp thru the extra water pressure of the 40g).

But to answer your question, No...not enough air volume to run 8, maybe 2.

Are you using air stones in the sponges?

There are 8 sponge filters with 8 air stones . the pump should be here friday i just was worried my air lines were not working or something. The pump is 3.9 psi if that helps *( the one im buying)*
