Why is it that Certain non native fish ( Pbass,chana,Jags,etc..) Are only in south florida near miami. Rather than near orlando? Is it because it gets to cold ? or is it because they just havent moved up this far north yet?

Thanks

Yep, too cold in the winter. JuanTamad gave his buddy in Tampa some pbass for his pond. They did well for several years until a bad winter. They were floating the next day. JuanTamad got a call the next day saying they were having pbass for dinner.

i may be taking a trip to miami this year anyone wanna take me fishing for some cichlids, and maybe some channa

I think it's really what kind of fish it is like P's for example in my part of V.A. P's are illegal but i drive to northeren V.A. and there they are at the lfs the shop owner said that in southeren V.A. they can survive a cold winter in a deep lake.If u go north of the mason dickson line they cannot survive the winter therefor making them legal to have.I guess the pbass and other cichlids just are not hardy enough to survive a winter just a couple hundered miles from where they are now in miami and i red most of those fish live in ditches and shallow canals so they don't have chance when it gets cold there.
