I've recently noticed some for sale ads for gatf and widebar dats that seemed pretty questionable.

Both sellers offered the fish at an unheard of low price and were asking for cash up front.

However, neither seller was willing to post pics to show they had what they claimed.

One of the buyers posted some pics after delivery but the true gatf's were DOA and the survivors were not gatf.

Were those DOA's really from the seller I'm referring to?

And if so, why were they in such bad condition?...they looked really emaciated and f'd up in the pics.

No news or updates from the widebat seller and both threads have died abruptly or were closed after receiving heavy traffic.

So what goes here?

Did anyone get a refund or did everyone get screwed?

And was anyone dumb enough to send money?

With the way the economy is, offers like this that are too good to be true are springing up left and right and in all walks of life.

And many suckers are getting duped!

That is why I always use PayPal or credit cards when I buy online...I've been scammed before from sellers here and on other sites but always got my money back.

In the words of the great Oddball, "caveat emptor." The marketplace is a "buy at your own risk" section and at times, there are risks associated with getting good deals. It all boils down to whether or not there is an established trust and you want to take the risk. If people feel badly about their transactions, then they should use the marketplace feedback option that is provided. Otherwise, take it to PM.
