Well I posted it up when it was around 4" and it was thought that it would turn out to be a male, I'm questioning that. It's currently just over 5.5" and while the fins are starting to turn blue it still lacks the vivid spots that most males have. The other reason I thought it was a male was the pattern on the gill, I was told no females have that pattern. Turns out while searching the web I was able to find pics of two females that did in fact have that pattern, even though it doesn't appear to be common I guess it could be a female. Do females really grow as slow as most people say, taking about a year to reach 5"? This little one has reached 5.5" in about 7 months, which seems slow for males but fast for females. So I'm open for oppinions on if this thing is a male or female, at times it changes it's colors to look like either one, so I have no clue anymore.
