Thinking about buying a used ~300 gallon (dim 90"x26"x36"tall). Guy says the glass is ~9mm thick(3/8"). It has 1 brace in the top center. Do you think it is safe? My 2ft tall 180 had 1/2" glass.
I just do want it to explode obviously. Thanks for any input.

9mm float glass is woefully inadequate for a 90"x26"x36" aquarium. It's either thicker than 9mm (gave the wrong measurement), shorter than 3 feet (gave the wrong measurement), possibly tempered, or possibly a reptile tank. The proper thickness for that tank using float glass is around 23mm.

It's possible it's using euro bracing, but you said it had 1 brace, so I think that nixes that. Even with euro, I wouldn't trust it that thin.

If all the numbers are correct, I'd pass as a tank to hold water.

And yes, the proper thickness for a 2 foot tall 180 is almost exactly 1/2".

Wish I had that info earlier... Brought it home and the bottom shattered during filling... All the measurements I listed were correct. Lesson learned...o well

My guess is reptile also. He claimed he had it filled... When it broke it was almost full

omg this sux. Hope you got all the water up good. My exwife busted all my tanks while I was out of town during our divorce. About 1000 gals on the floor for 2 days. When I returned all my fish were dead and the floors of my house were buckling. Good luck.
