I am just wondering if any of you have any experience with a breeding pair of red devils. I am just wondering what size tank works for a pair without a divider. I googled it and it say 100 gallons, put from previous posts here some of you feel like 125 gallons is too small so I want advice from experienced red devil keepers. Thanks

***125 GALLON: 1 Red Devil and 1 12 inch pleco.
60 GALLON: 1 Vieja Syn, 1 Jack Dempsey and 1 Green Terror.***

Really no way to tell on this. Depends on the personality of the fish involved. If you want to give it a shot, buy a group of fry & grow them out together & have a pair form naturally. They might stick together for one spawn or for 2 years - no way to predict it. A 6ft long 125gal is the minimum I would attempt this in though.

Well I already have a male red devil that is about 5 inches. I think he is a male because he has a hump that is starting to show and his tube sticks out alot. He has killed or injured everything that I've tried to put with him. I dont think im gonna attempt this but just would like to know if it is at all possible

***125 GALLON: 1 Red Devil and 1 12 inch pleco.
60 GALLON: 1 Vieja Syn, 1 Jack Dempsey and 1 Green Terror.***

Of coarse it's possible. I've seen red devils spawn in a 30 gallon. But the male had to be removed immediately.
