Hey guys, I currently have a bull shark I've had for two years almost, and he's in a 525 gallon tank. But as you guys know bigger is better.. I have acquired everything needed to build a 1125 gallon tank in my basement.. Could you guys give me some good ideas and suggestions on the best places to but the plumbing in the tank and the correct appliances to do it.... Like the best spot for the plumbing in the tank and the skimmer and what type of pipe to use?? The tank will be 9 feet high and 95 inch across and 5 feet out from the wall ... I have 3/4 bullet proof glass panels and the sealant and wooden frames for top and bottom.. I don't want to construct till I know the spot to cut holes in the tqnk to run the plumbing... I was thinking 4 to 5 inch PVC pipe but I want your guys opinions and assistance before I assemble this monster tank... If you guys could give me ideas and assistance... Through directions on the best spots for everything and how to install... I'd greatly appreciate it... If any ones has pics of their setup for a large tank and build pics and could offer instruction or ideas that would be awesome.... Thanks for takin the time to read this... I look foward to your input and help!!!!

I know nothing about this, but I'm sure that a 9' x 95" footprint that's 5' high would be much more comfortable for the shark if you can do it. It will give you a little extra time before you need to upgrade again!

Thanks buddy I appreciate the info, the area I'm building it In is just in-between two walls so il try to remeasure and I'll look at that in the morning... I appreciate the help

I was gonna do 9" high and 95inch wide .... That would be even better right... I'll get the correct measurements and I'll post th in the morning.... But thanks for the advice I appreciate it... I'll check back tomorrow with the correct measurements. In proper form... U know A x B x C ... Well go from there

You are planning to build a tank with a foot print of 5' x 8' (almost 8' anyway) for a shark that routinly grows to be 11' long? Ok the males are smaller and generally stay under 10', but still!

Must be you like building tanks, you are going to need to start the next build as soon as you finish this one. It would be a LOT cheaper to only build once. You need a bigger tank plan.

I also hope you are better at building than you are at math. a tank that is 5'x 95" x9' is 356.25 cubic feet, which is 2663 gallons not 1125. And its still WAY too small.

How big is the shark now?

thats way to small for a bull shark they can get 13ft long you will need a 20 foot long tank

Yup, I definitely agree with the previous posts. I may not know much about sharks but one thing I've learned here is Bull Sharks are pretty aggressive sharks when compared to most others and I don't think putting them in a tank too small for them is going to help matters. They get HUGE.

There's a couple of things that don't really jive with this thread!
1) Where did this bull shark pup come from? Last I checked they don't pup out any
where near NYC.
2) Bull sharks are born in the 30" to 36" range, possibly a little smaller give or take an
inch. So how is this thing living in a 525 gal tank for two years.
3) Anybody with the ability to keep a bull alive for two years should know the care and
tank requirements for this animal and wouldn't he asking us where to put the
pluming.

In my opinion it takes a large system- 15' round or larger to hold a pup and a water volume of 3000 gal or more. This will only house a small bull and a large upgrade should soon follow.

This is just my take on it and if I had to guess this person has mistaken this his shark for a bull or is just blowing smoke.
