Ok, so i have a texas, red devil, red terror, and a jack dempsy that i am interested in feeding some feeders. I know all about the risks of store bought feeders so i bred some convicts and figured i would raise my own feeders. I just cant find it in myself to toss the little bugers in to the tank with the fish that will end their poor young helpless lives:cry: . I have never had a problem with this sort of thing but these little fry that barely push an inch in length... i cant feed them to my other fish. So i was wondering if i could feed them ghost shrimps. Do they carry the same risks as feeder fish? Is there any other alternatives to feed them other than the fry i raised? Or am i going to try and pull it together? Another reason i dont want to feed my convict fry is because i think i have some marbles in the mix!!! Well any alternative live food suggestions are greatly appreciated. The reason i want to feed live foods like fish or shrimp is because i have heard people say there fish groww quicker and exhibit more natural behaviors. Is this true? Thank you guys/gals a ton, i appreciate it.:)

pull it together and put them in it is fun to watch . lol i have 50 neons cycling a 220g and i cant wait to get my aro in there from my other tank to watch him have a feeding frenzy . put three or four in and watch what happens if you feel really bad about it dont put the rest in if you think it is exciting and want to see more put more in .

i don't feed live feeders of anykind to any of my fish and they are all healthy
and are growing fast
just my 2 cents

I agree with koliveira about saving the ones you like and feeding the others to your fish. Most breeders cull the imperfect fish or fish that don't carry on the traits they are interested in.

Well, i finally got it together and dropped a couple fry in to their tank.... my jd and rd absolutely loved them. Though the tex never even found interest in them and the rt tried catching a few but the little bugers swam off right into the jd's mouth! Thank you all for the advice!!!!
