1. Is it ok to feed the fish right before bedtime?

2. Is it ok to feed the fish right before water change?

Please do let me know what you all think. Thanks.

Your bed time? or theres?

My fish stay awake along time after i go turn off there light...but if you mean before they go to sleep id say thats bad.

My fish eat the flakes that sunk to the bottom...so personally id wait till they were fully done eatting...which can take a bit of time if they made a big mess.

on days where i do a WC i typically feed them wait about a half hour then do a WC to make sure they ate as much as they want - can't help on the first most of my fish are notcurnal and sleep during the day while im at class haha

1. If you mean like 10pm or the like then that is fine. If you have any bottom dwellers they would prefer this to feeding them 2pm in the bright lights of the house lights being on.

2. For me I have fed a catfish before a WC then did the WC then 20 minutes after the WC he literally puked up his half digested food. So for me I feed before, but usually will change later that night or early morning. I've asked the question before though and it seems I just had a rare case of wimpy catfish.

Only if they are nocturnal species of fish.
Think of it this way, how well would you be able to digest a large meal, if you ate it right before going to bed? :)
In some fish this can lead to gastrointestinal issues.

2. Is it ok to feed the fish right before water change?

Again, this may lead to gastrointesinal issues in the fish if it becomes stressed from the water change. Best to feed several hours before, or several hours after a water change.
