hi guys,

i just got a front 20pcs. of 2" blue zaire moba and i loved them already. my question is: can i feed them with my NLS (discus formula) that i have left from my discus before?

i switched from discus to fronts. what are the basic stuff that i should be doing for my fronts?

right now, i had them on my 75G as grow out and will upgrade soon if they will outgrow the tank.

if you have any recommendations, please share it to my by posting it here..

thanks in advance.

Yes you can use up the rest of your NLS discus food for the fronts. According to NLS's website, all of their formulas contain essentially the same ingredients in different proportions to attain the best nutritional analysis for each type of fish, so use up what you have then switch to the cichlid formula. I would recommend sticking with 1mm pellets until the fronts are at least 5 in. then decide if you want a larger size pellet.

Only other recommendation is to start planning a bigger tank sooner rather than later, and keep up on water changes, IMO water quality plays a big part in keeping fronts looking healthy long term.

Agree use up the discuss formula but when you switch to cichlid formula got the 2mm as fronts have large mouths and can handle the bigger pellets just fine. As for your tank I would try and find a 150 5 or 6 foot tank right now and make sure the ph is over 7. When putting the tank together use sand substrate and some nice rocky hiding places. Wish you all the best as these are great fish they grow slow but the bigger the tank the better they will grow and a lot quicker too.

I'd try to move them to a bigger tank as soon as possible. They need the room to grow.
