So I got a few drilled tanks from another member here. 3 20 gallon longs. The are drilled and have bulkhead fitting attached already. I'm taking another 20 long and building a W/D for them.

http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170921

Now I had a coupld of questions that went un answered in my thread above and thought I'd post them here.

The bulkhead fitting have 90 degree barb fittings installed, here are the dimensions with and without the barb fittings:

Intake: Inside diameter (I.D.)
I.D. w/ 90 - 9/16"
I.D. w/o 90 - 13/16" = 3/4" PVC for plumbing

Return:
I.D. w/ 90 - 7/16"
I.D. w/o 90 - 9/16" = 1/2" PVC for plumbing

I'm trying to decide if I should just run hose between everything, or ditch the barb fittings and hard plumb everything with PVC, doing this will allow the use of larger intake/return plumbing as the barb fittings reduce.

Attached are some pictures of the tanks/fittings/plumbing diagram (for PVC)

If I go the PVC route, I'm guessing where the 3 intakes go to the single line to the W/D I should run a larger pipe to it than what's used on the main connect line to the tanks (hope that makes sense)

Anyway take a look at my other thread and the pics and diag I posted here.

Thanks for the help

personaly id ditch the barb fitting.. i just dont like them in general... i do however like pvc.. id put ballvalves on everything just to keep life easy

run a larger size pipe for the main lines then use reducers to whatever fits the bulkheads
