Hey guys, I'm rather new to MFK but I love fish, I can easily spend an hour inside an Aquarium shop or in front of any Aquarium.

I wanted to ask about my setup because I originally thought that it was okay but had a friend say that it was a bad setup, so I wanted to get some opinions and maybe a solution.

I have a wide 75 gallon tank with regular gravel, a plant at each end, and 2 pieces of driftwood. It has a 175 gallon capacity Rena Filter and I do 15% changes every week if not more. I'm also planning on getting another large filter to help out.

My biggest fish is a Silver Arowana who's at about 7.5" right now.

After then I have...

-7" Ropefish
-6.5" Senegal Bichir
-3.5" Albino Short Bodied Bichir
-6" Alligator Pleco
-5" Hujeta Rocket Gar
-4" Papav Crayfish

They have a rather spread out feeding schedule and are each fed on different days as well as two days left for fasting during the week. I don't feed them any feeders, what I do give them is a variety of food going from bloodworms, beef heart, cucumber slices, and brine shrimp to silver sides, carnivore sticks, pellets, and algae wafers.

Now I'm starting to agree with my friend, I got the majority of these fish when they were relatively small but I think it might be time to give some of them away.

What do you guys think? The max I was going to update to was a 150 gallon tank only because of the Arowana but even then my friend said that wouldn't be enough.

I really don't want to part with any of them, they're awesome pets especially the Bichirs, but I care about them a lot and I want what's best for them. What should I do?

Here are some pictures...

ya at about 2 years of age the Aro will be around 22"+ so unless you are getting atleast a 240gal (8x2x2) you should trade-in your Aro or try and sell it.

You may want to lose the pleco as well. They don't jive well with polys.

Yeah I thought that and at first the Pleco would try and suck on the Senegal when they were both younger but I've had them for a while now and they coexist pretty well. Overtime, they've gone through at least 3 tank upgrades together. Besides, I doubt I would be able to part with the Pleco anyways, I've had him for too long.

I don't even know where I could get a tank like that, I've only ever seen a 220 gallon and its length was only about 6' so I doubt that's enough room.

Yeah I'll probably wait a bit because it's still relatively small compared to the tank and when it gets bigger I'll sell him.

Thanks guys.

might want to sell now
easier to sell the aro when small imo
;)

I was thinking it'd go up in value when it grew a bit so I'd be able to get my money back, but you do have a point...

I have never had a problem with my plec and bichirs and they are both pushing up over 8 inches now. I would have to agree with the aro though, you should get rid of it sooner than later (I agree with midnight)
