Hi,

I wanted to ask anyone with experience with these crays, if they could share their knowledge. Are these Crays in demand more than the brown cajun dwarf crays? Do they breed similar to the brown dwarfs or harder? Is there anything I should know before owning these? Let me know anything you know. Thanks you

I had them a few months ago...I bought a pair online and got the female got berried, but for whatever reason she lost the eggs. They are pretty sensitive to water quality and hide a lot of the time. Also I'm pretty sure they are similar to the brown dwarfs just an orange color morph...

I didnt' find them any harder at all to be honest. Mine bred like gangbusters. They seemed able to do well in a range of params. Most important thing was ample hiding spots. I made towers of stacked small pieces of driftwood, though many people use pvc. I would wedge alot of moss into the towers to give the fry places to hide and also the parents a place ot hide after molting. They are not territorial to fish, snails, shrimp, or plants but can be a bit rough on each other if they don't have enough hiding spaces.
Mine were very outgoing, challenging me at the glass and being rambuncious. I really enjoy them. They sell well and are more in demand than the shufeltdii and the wild type patzcuarensis.
