Questions for the experts here. I have 3 pure BDs, their spots look white when they're in my tank, but they look yellowish when I put them in a bucket and look from above. So my questions are as follow
1) Does it have anything to do with stress?
2) Will the spots eventually turn white as they grow?
3) Is it normal for pure BD to have yellowish spots?
Thanks

I know nothing about Ray’s so I cannot comment much…I was thinking maybe the spots may not be as white as the buckets so they appear more yellow in comparison when in the bucket? Then when I’m the tank they appear much whiter against the black tank and dark decor?

Yes it’s normal for BDs to have yellowish spots. Only through selective breeding do BDs get whiter spots. There’s a guy in SG called exotic empire rays, who breeds his rays known as “ white diamond rays”, which spots are fully white
