Questions about rays and tanks

I just bought this tank that is 72in long, 18in wide, and I think 20in high and I was wondering how long would I be able to keep a Motoro stingray in there if I bought him around 6-8 in wide and would I be able to keep 2 rays in that tank without any problems?

not very long the motoro ray for some reason grow very quickly and in no time you will be forced to upgrade go big the first time so you dont have to do it later on .

So about a year? Cuz I was asking around and some people tell me about a year and a half to maybe even two years

A part of me also wants to build a pond/tank and wanted to keep it outside when they get bigger and the only problem is I live in salinas California and the only problem is keeping it warm, cuz filtration and cover and safety isn't a big deal

Well you have one BIGGER problem than that.. They're ILLEGAL in Cali.. Not saying to can't get them or keep them though..lol

I had a male motoro in a 150 gallon tank it lasted less than a year before he looked uncomfortable. It is not a question of if you could keep one alive in a 72x18 tank for two years because I am sure with proper filtration and water changes you could but I don't think it is fair to the ray to keep a motoro in an 18" wide tank for much more than a year max. Keep in mind that plans always take longer than expected it took me around 3 months longer than I would have liked to get my 300 gallon ready for my ray and I felt like a jerk most of those days even doing 2 50% water changes a week

Now my question is when I decide to go with the plywood tank/outside pond thing, how can I keep it at normal temperature?

Problem #1 You are in California
Problem #2 You are posting you want a ray

If everyone were robbing banks would you also rob a bank just because "everyone" is ?
