Questions about silver arowana

Hi, there
I've a question about my new arrived silver arowana, I just setup my big 210 gallon fish tank and it needs probably a week before the water is ready and safe for fish.

The problem is: The arowana has arrived and the water is not ready...

I only have a 5 gallon tank that for my neons, can I put the arowana in the 5 gallon tank for one week? will he die? or will he eat all my neons?

The size of my aro is 2.5 inches.

At 2.5 in you might want to make sure the water is very perfect but about 1 week in the 5 gallon should be ok
