Questions about used wet/dry I got.

I got this from the LFS today for $50. It came with the overflow, bioballs, and pump. There is ~2 gallons of bioballs, and the pump is a rio rated at about 600 gph.

What size tank do you think this is rated for, and could I increase its capacity by removing the skimmer and putting a couple sponge filters in there? Would it make much of a difference in capacity if I changed the bioballs to scrubbies? Thanks in advance for all of your help

It is for use on up to 75g. The cpr overflow can handle 300g an hour..That is if it is the 3/4" bulkhead model (cs50)

Are wet/dry filters more efficient than HOB? Obviously more media capacity per gph.

Ive read that for 100 gallons, you need 2.5 gallons of bioballs. So doing the math that sump is rated for 80g tank. The nylon scrubbers have twice the surface area that bioballs have, so thats puts you at about a 160gallon tank. Which isnt enought for your tanks so send it over to me

Yea they are, because the gas exchange is much higher. plus you can hide heaters and watever else in them. They're simple to maintain, you can put a lot more media in, and they look cool.
