Questions For People Feeding Tilapia and Beef Heart

It's either a layer of fat from what the fish didn't eat or a layer of protein from what they did eat. It's most likely from the beef heart. Just syphon from the top of the water next time you do a water change (make it soon, don't wanna mess with the gas exchange).

If you want to feed that stuff often, just stick a powerhead where it disturbs the top so that film stays broken up and suffocates everyone.

beefheart is best avoided being a mammalian based protein, but tilapia is great, but you will have mess especially if using it to feed smaller fishes

Tonight was the first time I fed tilapia and beef heart. The fish didn't like it so much and I had to scoop out the left over. Now I have layer of sludge film at the top of my water. Is this stuff harmful to fish?

The times I do feed beefheart, there is always globs of sludge at the surface.....No other time....Between the two(tilapia or BeefHeart), I will choose tilapia....I do not know what kind Monsters you have, but try shrimp and krill.....
