The VILLE
Hello everyone. I need some feedback on somethings. im seting up a 265 gal and plan on useing gravel,a fluval fx-5, a milliniem 3000, and 3-4 powerheads as filtration. Im gonna keep all new world cichlids so what would be best to heat the tank a inline heater or several sumersible heaters secured in pvc. Also i was really thinking of geting a u\v sterilizer clarifier to put on my return line. the guys at the local pond store said that it could kill benificial bacterial as well as the bad stuff. Does any one use one if so what size or should i just scrap the light. I heard it could kill parisites and other bad microstuff any sugestions would be great.

ive no experiance with the uv steriliser but with the heating, id go with about 3 submersable heaters protected with pvc with holes drilled in it. im sorry about not knowing about the uv steiliser but i do not think it is neccesary due to not many people on here using them (that i know of atleast) in fact i do own 1 but dont use it lol.

thanks! Has anyone ever used a u\v system or know someone that could maybe give me advice.

I do not believe that it kills benificial bacteria.
Why do all the salt water people use them???
I am setting up two large tanks and I will
have an inline U.V. sterilizer for each tank.
You could do some more research but you should
be finr to use it.....good luck

i found a new canister filter that does 150 gph that has a uv built into it im thinking of just adding this to my fx-5 and doing away with one power head.
