I was wondering if anyone here knows how to grow water lettuce?
If I get a single plant & put it in a tub filled with tap water, will it multiply?

It would be just like any plant. It will need nutrients and such to survive. Not just water.

Light and lots of it is the key. We have it in area canals and they grow great in direct sun while brownish and die in shaded areas

They run runners which grow into new water lettuce. Keep them in an open topped tank as they do not like condensation running on their leaves.

I bought a few and after a month, they have multiplied. Unfortunately after 2-3 months they all died out.

I placed them in a 125g tank and I think the reason why they all died out is because the tank is completely covered. All of the other plants survived though.

Plants need macronutrients and micronutrients. Nitrogen, phosphate and potassium make up the macros and the micros are covered by products like CSM+B or Seachem's Flourish Comprehensive.
