I saw some beautiful Nicaraguensis in the LFS today. I mean drop dead gorgeous fish...How do I tell if they are male or female...I hear some people say that males have a pink spot behind the gills, and females have a line from ear to tail....Yet I have seen females with the pink spot too....

look at the dorsal, males have a lot of black spangling and females have none.

females are supposed to have more blue in the entire face area.

if in breeding dress, males have no stripe, only a couple spots.
