Looking for advice on which fish you think would be best to duplicate in a 300 gallon tank I'm collecting fish for (45, 55 and 90 gallon tanks right now to grow out juvies and 3"+ fish). It'll be a peacock and hap tank.
I'm putting in an order with 9 fish so far. Want to get the order in asap. Need to choose 3 more (helps with price reduction, shipping costs etc.)
I know everyone says only 1 of each but I've seen so many online tanks that have more than 1 of a kind and the tanks seem healthy. I've had doubles and trios of peacocks do well (more than 1 male).
What I have for fish already:
small group of young lemon jakes (1 1/2"+)
4" albino peacock (no colouring, pearlescent body, pink eyes
2 4" ob peacocks that have lived together quite some time
2 1/2" red shoulder peacock
2 other 2 1/2" peacocks (names escape me)
2 1/2" Haplochromis obliquidens
3" sunshine peacock
What I'm hoping to get from a local aquarist, all 5+ inches:
Venustus
Fossrichromis Rostratus
Nimbichromis Livingstoni
Copadichromis Borlei "Kandango"
What I'm planning on ordering as 3-4" singles:
Copadichromis azureus
Cyrtocara moorii blue dolphin
Spinolatus Tanzania
Protomelas Taeniolatus red empress
Placidochromis milomo super VC-10
2 A. jacobfreibergi red jacob (1 for a 55g)
2 A. strawberry peacock (1 for a 55g)
From the above list of what I'm ordering I can choose 3 more fish. Wondering if it would be better of to have a trio rather than just 2. I could order a trio of C. azureus, P. taeniolatus, P. milomo. Can also order strawberries or only 1 more of C. moorii or S. tanzania. No more red jacobs available.
Several of the peacocks will most likely end up in a 55g that I plan on having as a peacock only tank.
Any advice will be appreciated, I'm moderately experienced in mbunas but starting in the peacock/haps.
