I was just wondering something...... BB usually needs a lot of 02 right? Hence the "biowheel" and the wet/dry where the bioballs are basically just kept wet with a constant flow of water. In the tank itself (substrate, wood, and rocks) how much BB do you think is around. Substrate say being sand in my situation.
I am just wondering this because i have to set up a 20L for an inbound fish in 2 days. I was going to take a few bioballs from my cycled 220, some sand, and maybe a few rocks. Shoudl I put the bioballs in the hob?? if they will fit. If not just let them float around? or sink? Hell, lol I don't even know if they float or sink. I don't think I ever saw that.
It will only be one fish. a 3-4" Armatus. I am not too conserned about a massive ammonia spike, but being exotic and expesnsive I obviously want to do the best thing. Any ideas???
