I'm doing a cycle with rosie minnows. Should I add petco fish water into my tank to speed up my cycling?

I dont think it will quicken the cycle but it wouldent hurt to try

Well his tank isent cycled so its not likes hes gona put anything important in there and it will give it time to cycle the crud out anyway no? idk lmao im not good at cycling crap, unless he bought the fish he wanted in that case put that bio spray crap in there and dont put the water in.

and i dont no what pet co is. but if it was like walmart water no way and i always put my fish in my 10 gallon for a week before going into my 120

If you're "not good at cycling crap" then why even bother to respond to this thread? :screwy:

It's well established that the vast majority of nitrifying bacterial culture is the filter media and a smaller percentage is on the substrate and other surfaces in an established tank. Water from an established tank will do little to help "seed" the cycling process. If you do have filter media from an established tank, that's the best way to help jump start a cycle, IMO.

Exactly, that's what i was thinking too. I think I'll just use petco water and just try it out.

You missed my point--water from an established tank will do little to help speed up a cycle. You need filter media or substrate, preferably filter media, from an established tank.
