i just sat up a diy co2 system today. instead of a 2 liter, i used a gallon jug. yes, it will hold the pressure. it's thicker than a 2 liter bottle. my question is though.. since a gallon is almost 2 liters more than a 2 liter, do you think it will hurt? my recipe was 2 cups sugar, 1/4 tsp yeast, warm water. i filled it up 3-4" below the top. thanks in advance.

i cant find any info that states more water will hurt (to a point)
why dont you just use a 2 liter

btw diy yeast c02 cause more problems than thier worth

where in La are you and how bigs the tank

no offense, but i've never heard any bad things about diy co2. it's just a 20 gal. i'm out in baton rouge but does that really matter?

yeast co2 isnt stable starts fast and slows down so co2 level is constantly changing
best way is to have 2 jugs a week lag on one

plenty of info about issues associated with yeast systems just have to look at some planted tank sites

i live in denham and have a 5lb bottle that needs hydro test

i'm using 2 bottles and am going to lag them as you said. that's cool that you're from denham though. my girlfriend is from that a way.

you can have the bottle if you want it
hydro and fill will run $20 harbor freight on sherwood has a regulator for $40

i appreciate the offer but i don't plan on doing that until i move all my plants into my bigger tank. and it will be a WHILE before i do that. thanks for the tip though. ;)
