I am trying to figure out the easiest way to prime my external in line pump. The pump is below the water level plumbed into a semi pressurized system. The pump pulls water from the tank (blue arrow) through a pressurized filter and then pushes it into a drum that overflow into my tank. Once initially primed there should not be an issue of re-priming as I have a check valve before the pump to prevent back-flow.
Would what I drew up here work? I first would close a valve after the pump. Then I would fill the lines with water (red arrow) until the level reached the top and then I would close the top valve, open the valve after the pump and start the pump.
I know it may be better to have the T at the top of the U that goes over the edge of the tank but I am wondering if doing it the way in my drawing would be feasible.
Thanks
Reed
