Hello, what is a fast-growing pike that isnt impossible to find? I dont expect cichla growth rates, but out of the pikes which grow fast and how much per month?

a lot of the larger Lugubris species grow at about 1 inch per month for a while. I would imagine that the Crenicichla Venezula, Strigata and Cincta would grow at almost twice that rate based on their adult size of over 18 inches......I believe Taz (I think) had a Cincta get to 16 inches in a tiny bit over 1 year.
Our Cobra juvies grew quickly ~ bout an inch a month - ate anything! Ken Davis/ FishFarm has 8 left, at the moment!
i keep telling people to jump on those.....They are an awesome pike that look great their entire lives with dramatic changes and like a 13 inch adult size or maybe a touch more.
But Xingu 1's are Lugubris Pike. I've heard mixed stories about their growth rate. Most say they eat non stop but do not grow very fast when young. they do obtain a 12 inch plus adult size though and are fairly aggressive.

I've come to learn it depends on tank size, feeding and most importantly... water changes.
had a Xingu I in a 30 and 55, never seemed to grow. now that's it's been in the 125 for a yr, it's gone from 3-4" to almost 9".
Cincta was in a 150g since 3" in nov '05, nov '06 it was over 10" and now pushing 16".
Johanna went from 5" in a 55g to 10" in a 250g pond in under 6 months.
