I have a sickness going on...some of the fish died to a white fungus...a few died to what looked like excess slime coat...and now I see a few fish with what looks like sores...I know what ich looks like but to me this is different. Its a 265g tank, ive added 3 lbs of kosher salt over 4 days time and let it sit for 24 hours and just did a 60% water change. Some of the fish never got sick others died within hours of me first noticing the disease...its come on quick killing fish within 3 days or so. I'm throwing in the towel please give some advice!

Please post your water perameters, Ammonia, nitrite, Nitrate, Ph, temerature and hardness if available. It would have beed better to get the water before the 60% WC but it will have to do.

parameters are normal for this tank,
0ppm - ammonia
0ppm - nitrite
5-10ppm - nitrate
pH - 6.5-6.8
temperature 80F

im no novice to fish keeping, i dont check my water parameters unless i have a problem,(and since im having a problem :( ) and these were my parameters last night, 8-10 hours before the 60% water change. ive been doing weekly 25-30% water changes.

after the WC the only difference is 78F temperature and nitrates have dropped closer to 5 ppm than 10

The reason I ask water perameters is to make sure any medacation I suggest is compatable with your water chemistry. I don't just say try this or that with out having some idea of what you will be treating and what you're using will be effective at best and doesn't kill your fish at worse. Not that I was suggesting you are a novice fish keeper. Try using API Fruan 2, dose as per instruction on the package. Remove any carbon from the system while treating.

You might be thinking of Maracyn–Two which is Minocycline which can be used here but it is a much broader spectrum and will be much harder on the nitrofying bacteria. In a main display tank Furan 2 will be effective at the op Ph and less damaging to the BB. If a stronger treatment is needed the Furan 2 is compatable with Kanamycin. However if all you can find is Maracyn 2 by all means use it.

try whit quelated copper sulfate, the salt normally its suficient but need slat for aquarium, for fungus can try whit mikonazol or other anti fungic medicaments, for the dosis you need check more online
