Quick ID please....

I don’t think it’s metae. A. metae have a long cheek stripe, an orange/yellow saddle, and lack the blue spangling this fish shows on its flanks. It looks more like Andinoacara to me. It looks a lot like Andinoacara coeruleopunctatus but those are really uncommon in the states so it’d be quite a find.

There’s also an undescribed species, A. sp. ‘Orinoco’ which is similar looking.

That's what I thought at first....totally off the subject but that was the first cichlid I collected in the wild..
 
I'd lean more towards the sp. 'Orinoco' myself over A. coeruleopunctatus due to the dorsal edging and pattern.
 
so now we're leaning towards Adinoacara Orinoco?

I searched google and found similar pics, I think the barring on the pics I posted may just be the stress bars
 
I am. I've never seen an A. coeruleopunctatus without a white edged dorsal. Granted that's not many as ryansmith83, they are rare.
