That's what I thought at first....totally off the subject but that was the first cichlid I collected in the wild..I don’t think it’s metae. A. metae have a long cheek stripe, an orange/yellow saddle, and lack the blue spangling this fish shows on its flanks. It looks more like Andinoacara to me. It looks a lot like Andinoacara coeruleopunctatus but those are really uncommon in the states so it’d be quite a find.
There’s also an undescribed species, A. sp. ‘Orinoco’ which is similar looking.
I'm trying to strike a deal with them to trade me. I really like this fish.I am. I've never seen an A. coeruleopunctatus without a white edged dorsal. Granted that's not many as ryansmith83, they are rare.
