Quick ID PLS Im at the pet shop now!!!!!

This is a gator gar is it not?
My buddy is at the shop in another city 3hrs away from home LOL....
about 3/4 of an inch thick, and 6" long
Looks like a gator to me but Its labled as a spotted........

Thanks in advance..... Im usually very good at this but this small for me its iffy

In my opinion, this is definitely an Alligator Gar.

I hope your friend has a 4ft wide x 8-10 feet long tank to keep him for a couple of years (after which he will need a large pond).

Is this at the big al's in Calgary? If so then they are not gator gars. I have seen them and know the breeder.

Alligator Gar for sure!

Looks like he may have a broken back! This can be confirmed if he is not able to move his anal fin (i.e tail)

In this picture, he does look a bit deformed.

I would advise: DO NOT BUY!!!

I think that these are pictures of two different fish. The first gar is looks excellent and appears to be in good health; the second gar, not so much.
