went to lfs to pick up a starfish today and saw this. i want it. but before i buy it id like to know what it is. the guys there had no clueIMG_20201018_131157.jpgIMG_20201018_131521.jpg

I personally never kept any specie of Pipefish but had a few Seahorses years ago. The care would be about the same as for a Seahorse either are a beginner species imo. They feed constantly hunting Coepods from live rock or off the aquarium glass. You can buy the live Coepods now but years ago I weaned Seahorses on frozen Mysis Shrimp. I suggest you do thourough research prior to getting the Pipefish.

ive got mysis that i have for my gobies and ill pickup copepods asap. the guys at the shop have absolutely no idea what they have or how to look after it. if they cant imight as well give it a shot right?

The Pipefish can't compete for food so make sure it's getting food GL. I also recommend using a pipette or turkey baster to feed the Mysis with it will make the food look like it's alive. Keep us updated

she made it thru the night. i was a bit worried ngl. when i fed yesterday she floated around with the food looking like she was a little intrigued. apparently turkey basters are a rarity here
