My male Cuban was feeling frisky tonight so took some quick pics.

Anyone know what males can realistically max out at size wise (not just what websites list)? I don't know if I've seen many bigger than he is on MFK, would love to see some pictures.

Oh, they're currently in a 90 gallon by themselves but I got a 60x18" last week that they are going to go in now. Just have to order and install the 3D background and get some equipment. These are my favorite fish I own. :)

Love the Tets hoping mine grow to look like that!

As far as size I know one guy had one on here years ago that was 12in long but he got it as an adult and had no idea how old it was. It looked to be like a decade old though and apparently it died after like a year from old age I believe. Other than that I haven't seen a male past 10".

^That's the same fish I was referring too. I though it was 12" not 13". The one im talking about is on the last page.

Yeah, I have my settings set to 40 posts per page rather than 10, so it might go to page two even for those of you still on 10 per page.

Whatever the case, go to the last page when you click the link.

Nice wood/rocks.
Good classic cichlids.

Thanks, I agree, really love this species.

Thanks, I have a feeling yours will grow up to look exactly like them. :D
I'd say mine is around 9- 10" max TL, he actually looks a little smaller in these pictures because of the angle or something. He's definitely not over 10" though. I like him too much to net him out and measure, even though he probably wouldn't mind too much. I will measure him when I transfer them to their née tank. :)

This is the biggest, oldest Cuban I've ever seen on MFK. Owner claims it was 13" when he passed.

Yours are looking fantastic bro.

That guy is a beast, I don't doubt the 12-13" at all. Thanks for the link! I think mine looks as big or bigger than the others on that thread though? Anyway, it's not the size that counts, right? ;)
